Murals are, by far, my favorite to paint. This was a mural I completed in April on the rooftop of a house where I briefly stayed in Mexico City. I found this awesome house through workaway.info, and the connections I made with the owner and another volunteer have been priceless. The house is in transition to become a multicultural center where residents will be able to have cultural and/or artistic exchanges. There will also be acro-yoga classes, and other activities and classes available at the house. The mural was inspired by the owner (Damian Hernandez) and his love for acro-yoga, as someone who practices and teaches this technique frequently. Acro-yoga is a style of partner yoga that involves acrobats, balance, and strength. It is a challenging, yet rewarding practice. It was a great time living at the house and learning acro-yoga skills while also helping transform the space. The house is still going through transition and construction, but before long the multicultural center will be ready for the public.
